We also have French as part of our curriculum. This is not an entirely new concept in pre-school education, but we feel it is one that the children may benefit from. French is taught once a week for an hour, our French tutor is a member of Club le francais, and is a native of France. She has substantial experience teaching pre-school children.
We have a teacher from a company called Jazz-Matazz. The children are allowed to experiment with a variety of musical instruments, and listen to a diversity of music where they are encouraged to interpret the music through dance. These sessions are taught once per week, for an hour.
The setting has its own mini-bus; therefore we are able to offer the children a range of regular offsite activities. Every week small groups of children have the opportunity to visit the local soft play area located at the leisure centre or during the warmer months to the local parks.
During the summer months small groups of children have the opportunity to attend trips to a variety of places of interest. These include outings to the sea-side, fruit picking, farms, and national trust parks. As these trips are seen as part of our curriculum there are no additional costs to parents.
